The Colorado Culinary Academy

When I realized I wanted to go back to school and learn more about cooking, I found out that our local college has a culinary program. I owe a lot to the Colorado Culinary Academy at Mesa State College, Grand Junction, Colorado. If it was not for this program, I doubt if Decadence Gourmet Cheesecakes would have been born!

DeBeque Canyon Winery

DeBeque Canyon is within view of the canyon for which it is named. The winery is well known for its oak-aged wines, especially Claret, a Bordeaux style blend. DeBeque also produces several reds and premium white wines plus a rich blended Port.We are now proudly making our Port/Fig w/ a currant reduction sauce with their port wine.Their wines have won numerous national awards. Winemaker Bennett Price is a foremost Colorado pioneer viticulturist and vintner. Bennett has introduced a number of grape varietals to Colorado and is currently experimenting with Portuguese and Spanish varietals for use in his Ports.

Forte Farms
Forte Farms is a boutique orchard located on East Orchard Mesa in Palisade, Colorado, When I first started Decadence Gourmet Cheesecakes, I worked for Pete selling his great fruits at a Farmers Market in Glenwood Springs and came to appreciate the zeal and passion he has for his fruit. We have proudly used Forte Farms Peaches and Apricots for the last six years.

I am lucky enough to live in what we call ‘The Quiet End of the Valley’, Palisade, Colorado. Home of The Palisade Peach Festival, The Colorado Wine Festival, wineries and fruit orchards, it truly is a unique and beautiful place.

Reeder Mesa Vineyards is an award-winning winery located in Whitewater, Colorado, just south of Grand Junction. We proudly use Reeder Mesa Vineyards Chardonnay and Riesling in our Pear/Chardonnay and Apricot/Riesling Cheesecakes.
